Help To Stop Snoring: What You Need To Know To Quit Snoring For GOOD!
Are you looking for help to stop snoring? If you’ve been looking around online for more than 5 mintues you’ve probably found that there are a TON of snoring products available. There are so many available that it makes it hard to figure out exactly which one you should purchase that would work the best for you.
If you’re not so keen on buying a product and want to try and stop your snoring yourself there are a few things you can try.
1. Try sleeping on your side instead of your back to help stop snoring. Sleeping on your back is one of the major causes of snoring. Your tongue falls backward and it causes a partial block of your airway. You can try to remedy this by putting pillows on either side of your body to prevent you from rolling over. You can also sew a tennis ball into the back of a shirt so that if you roll over on it makes it uncomfortable.
2. You can try to raise the head of your bed up a little so that you are elevated. Being at an elevated level will help to stop snoring. Put a brick, block, or piece of wood between the mattress and the box springs.
3. Try losing weight. If you are overweight the excess fatty tissue around your throat can put pressure on your airway causing snoring.
4. Stop drinking alcohol. Alcohol relaxes the muscles and can cause your soft tissue in your throat to vibrate which causes snoring.
5. Don’t take sleeping pills. Sleeping pills cause the same reaction that alcohol does in that it relaxes your muscles and soft tissue. If you want help to stop snoring but you have trouble falling alseep don’t rely on pills or medications. Try exercising and changing your diet. Also try and cut down on caffeine.
6. Try an allergy pill like loratadine. Allergies can cause nasal congestion which leads to snoring. Also try dusting, removing feather filled pillows (a lot of people are allergic to these), vaccuming and dusting.
These are just a few of the steps you can take to help with your problem. It wouldn’t hurt to try an anti snoring device. There are a few options availble to you that have proven to work for others.
